BitPay Card

The BitPay Card is BitPay's (founded 2011, Atlanta) Mastercard prepaid card, issued by Metropolitan Commercial Bank (FDIC member) — the first crypto prepaid Mastercard in the US market per the 2020 official release. Crypto converts to dollars instantly for spending.

Official fee schedule (Cardholder Agreement, Schedule A)

• Issuance/activation/monthly/weekly fees: $0; BitPay loads: $0
• ATM withdrawal $2.50; 3% currency conversion on international transactions; bank teller withdrawal $2.50
• Dormancy $5/month after 90 days without transactions; physical replacement $10

Limits (per the Agreement)

• $10,000 daily loads/spend; $25,000 maximum balance; ATM $2,000 per withdrawal, 3 per day

Hard requirements

• US residents 18+ only: SSN/government ID and a US address required under AML terms
• Supported load cryptos: BTC, BCH, ETH, XRP and USDC-family stablecoins (per the release)
